I have something to say about a remarkable lesson I had learned. I’m attending in an English class, where teaching English in English. That’s a nice and friendly class. Our teacher is an American. He is a REAL AMERICAN i.e. a very straight forward man. Last Friday during the class, we had a conversation session where we talked to each other. There he gave us a topic. It was a Topic about music. Then, he grouped us into two. Group A, had to talk and discuss each other about Traditional Music and group B about Modern Music. He gave us about 10 minutes. And then, he told us to discuss between two groups about the features and advantages of the certain music type. However, he requested something, after discussing we must have an agreement. No body won. No body lost.
Firstly, a person from group A talked about the advantages of traditional music. After his discussion, another person from group B had to retell his statements and he must question the thing he confused. And then, that person discussed about modern music. We talked alternatively, urged each other and questioned each other. Surprisingly, we had equal in drawbacks and pros. Finally, we could make a conclusion that everyone accepted: No music is better than each other and each has its own beauty. We ended conversion.
After that, teacher asked us a question. What kind of conversion had we made? We answered “Debate” he said “No”. So we asked him what that was... And you... Do you know the answer?
He simply said “It’s Dialogue”.
